Fuyu LI (Olivia)

What are your current duties?

I'm a new academic manager at GEC, primarily serving as the key point of contact for professors. I'm responsible for coordinating both online and onsite research programs, as well as facilitating effective communication and collaboration between faculty and the GEC.

What made you choose GEC Academy?

First of all, while I chose GEC, I’m also truly grateful that GEC chose me. One of the biggest reasons I decided to join GEC is its outstanding reputation as the leading PBL-based research institution in China. This closely aligns with my previous internship experience at an international school, where students were encouraged to actively construct knowledge through hands-on projects, and where critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning were key learning outcomes. I felt that GEC’s educational philosophy was a perfect match for my background and values.

Secondly, I have a genuine passion for education. All of my previous internships have been in the education field, and I truly enjoy working with students. Every interaction allows me to learn something new and gain fresh perspectives. Being in education gives me a sense of purpose and constant growth.

Lastly, the working atmosphere was incredibly positive at GEC, and whenever I encountered challenges, my teammates were always willing to help and offer encouragement.

What are your specialisms and interests?

My specialisms is playing badminton — I've been playing for over nine years now. These days, I play mostly to stay active and maintain my health. In my free time, I also enjoy photography and spending time with friends, especially trying out different foods together. I'm particularly a fan of spicy dishes!
